Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Not sure if this is the right place to post or not but our family has been doing this for the past 3 weeks.

We'd like to spread this idea as I really feel the need to not forget the aging. Maybe it's because I turned 40 this year !

We visit the elderly at least once a month for Mass. The children are responsible for bringing residents down for the Mass; they LOVE to see the children and they always have stories to share. One dear lady cracks us up, she adores my baby and will pat her tummy, smile and say "I'm going to have a baby too..."

It's a wonderful way for the children to appreciate life.

God bless you and your family, Maria, as you share His love and beauty with others.

For a long time, I have been thinking and praying for a way our family can bless others. I've considered and discarded many activities; a 3yo can stuff envelopes or help stock shelves at a food pantry, but their attention will not last long. Visiting a nursing home together is perfect for a family with small children. It's making a lasting impact for some of the most vulnerable and lonely in our society, and our dc will experience firsthand the joy service to others can bring.

Thank you so much for sharing this idea!
