Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

After church, during which I had asked our son (almost 4) to pray and thank Jesus for calling him to church and for being there to meet us, and explained about going forward we should be very quiet because people were meeting Jesus up at the altar, our son turned to me and said so sadly "But Mummy I didn't see Jesus or God on the big table".

What books etc would be helpful to bring alive the Mass to him and also explain a little of what the whole thing means. We are still cathecumens (sp?) and so we don't actually recieve communion yet.

These are the ones we use:

A Peek into My Church
The Mass Book for Children
Little Acts of Grace

and to answer the myriad of questions, I read (and REALLY liked) How-to Book of the Mass.

Those should get you started anyway!
