Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know you guys have wonderful resources for art prints, etc. but at the moment our budget is all spent - so ....I am so excited about this new source I found right in my own pile of clutter.

Anyways, many of you probably subscribe to Magnificat. The front cover has artwork copies and the credits on the back cover. If you trim and laminate, you end up with some nice prints of lovely religious art. Also there are several pages toward the back with more artwork - usually featuring a Saint or other feast day theme. I had stacks of these magazines dating from 1998 that I was saving for some unknown reason.

Well we ended up with fleas in our house, thus the need to remove as many dust sources from our home as possible and I didn't want to have to rearrange furniture and boxes every time I vacuumed. We are trying the soap water traps in every room and I'm developing the habit of vacuuming regularly. Never knew so many good things could come from fleas . I'm also finally beginning to tackle some of my rooms that I knew needed plenty of work when everyone was inspired by the posts on beauty.

Back to topic - Anyways, I just couldn't throw these away and knew it was doubtful if they'd be of any use to anyone else as the dates/seasons days are for a particular year. I just spent last night ripping off the covers and pasting the credits on the back. I also have the short spread on the Saint. It is short and full of various angles and closeups of the same piece of art - plus a little write up on both the saint featured and the symbols in the art. I have so many possibilities for these running around in my mind - matching games, Saints photos to add to my feast table notebook, etc. Now I have tons of pictures for my notebook (in progress). We are making a Saints/Feast notebook for our feastday table. It is tabbed by month and then within the month, we have art prints, hopefully we'll have quotes and brief life of saint featured - all in one notebook to be displayed on the table. Within the month, I have things organized by day - so I'm hoping to end up with at least one Saint per day in the notebook.

I know the Magnificat cover may not be as high a quality print as most of you are used to - but for us it is a great place to start. Then I figure as the children develop favorites and such, we can plan to get a print of their favorite as a special treat for the family at various points of the year. At that point we could even compare the two prints to see how the two copies are different, etc.

I think that is fabulous! I'd love to have a resource like that to just dig into and create a saints and feasts notebook!(preferably without the fleas!LOL! Been there and done that! )

I had been saving them for the same reason Janet!    I actually thought they were great for art resources as well as celebrating the saints throughout the liturgical year. I just don't know where mine are??

You make me laugh Janet! Fleas!
