Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used either of these programs? The Kinderbach programs looks interesting (but expensive) - my just 3 year old spends so much time at the piano and is begging to learn, but we do not start formal lessons until 5 or 6.

Wow, Marylin, that's wonderful!! My ds now 8.5 began around 3- 3 1/2 and then we started a formal Kindermusik with him and all he wanted to do was the piano, so at just 4 he began lessons and is now pretty accomplished for an 8 year old. I say go for it if he'll sit for the lessons, you never know how it will pan out if he's musically inclined.

I haven't heard of Kinderbach, maybe it's similar, the one we did was pretty reasonable price wise, but we are SO much happier with private music lessons, for MANY reasons!!

Have fun!

Meredith - Kinderbach is actually a program you use at home (see www.kinderbach.com) and so is the Little Mozarts program. I did do Kindermusic group lessons with my oldest - but it is way way too expensive for large families - and my kids too prefer the individual private piano lessons. The Kinderbach has a dvd and books etc suitable for 2+ - it gets good reviews, though I am balking a little at the cost. Little Mozarts is an Alfred program - but is aimed at 4 and up.

I try to minimize out of home lessons - especially with the little one arriving soon. My older kids have private lessons the same afternoon - so I drop all 3 off at the same time!!

I got the music for little mozarts when my ds was 41/2 and had him use it for a while. He enjoyed it but we stopped using it after a while. Not sure why... We never got very far with it. I don't think he got much out of it. My impression was that it was fluff.

We found him a teacher when he was 6 and it was great! I'd recommend getting a live person (e.g., a high school student) who will respond and pace the lessons according to the child's needs and abilities. Esp at the very beginning it needs to be just fun.
