I just bought a used copy of this atlas by Rand McNally.

It is so kid friendly- I love it. The book is big enough to have nice detail and pictures, but not so hugh that it is cumbersome to hold on your lap.
When we read about the saint of the day, I can then quickly flip to the map showing where the saint lived. I can easily hold the book in my lap. It has been a great and quick way to sneak in some geography every day.

I wasn't very good about dragging out our big wall map all the time , so this has filled a need for us.

I love atlases. I asked for one for Christmas one year and my brother gave me the Oxford World Atlas. It is great!
