We were about ready to skim over this topic and go on to something else when ds received a great, challenging model to build. Now I've decided to incorporate it into his lesson plans for the next couple of weeks (since I'll hardly be able to drag him away from it anyway  ).
I found the poem for copywork and memorization and while searching I found this site. It is really comprehensive and includes several levels of work to choose from. You can find something for every discipline.

Gwen, what a nifty site! Just a reminder, too, that if you need anything pertaining to the USS Constitution, the museum there has a fabulous shop---pictures galore, books, activities, models, copies of the famous poem, t-shirts and more.
I know this to be true, having spent a good while there recently buying a shirt for my ds who threw up all over himself---AND the USS Constitution---while we were there, visiting...

The USS CONSTITUTION is the oldest active Navy ship. Sailors have to compete to get orders to serve onboard this wonderful ship. Only the best are chosen.

My ds is loving that ship more and more each day that he builds it and we've decided to continue the school year with model warships and the related lessons and books!
