Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Would love to have your suggestions for a Germany unit study, might be going there for 2 months starting July (hubby's work). Also planning to visit Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Giverny (for Monet!) so any suggestions, comments, books, must-sees, even travel tips will be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Hi, Stef

I see you posted this almost three weeks ago so I hope this isn't too late. My husband lived in Germany for about 4 years and he's full of suggestions on places to see. Here are some: Schwaebisch Hall, Dinkelsbuhl (I have a book suggestion for this later), and north German city of Husum. Dinkelsbuhl and Schwaebisch Hall are what my husband calls, "well-kept secrets full of gutmuetlichkeit." These cities are in southwest Germany. Husum is located in the very north part of Germany, south of Denmark on the North Sea coast. The countryside is beautiful in all locations. You can do a google search for pictures.

We read a book last year about Dinkelsbuhl called, "Once Upon a Dinkelsbuhl" by Patricia Lee Gauch (Illustrated by Tomie de Paola). Our children really enjoyed it.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a nice stay!
