Yes, there have been off and on problems with the search engine over the past couple of days. It wasn't working this weekend, then earlier today it was working for me. Now it is not again. Tim has been made aware and will work on it when he can. Hopefully it will be up functioning soon, to help with all those searches we need to do...

Just wanted to add that I haven't been able to search for a couple of days. Here's the latest error I received (using Firefox browser):

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/search.asp, line 372

I also tried in IE just to see if it was a browser setting messing with things, but received the same results.

Just a note to add that the search is working if you search by "Topic subject" or by "Posted by" - problems currently seem to be mostly with the search in "Message body". THough I'm periodically have trouble with the "posted by" search - where it will come up with the same thread multiple times (if the person posted more than one time in the thread). I'd never had that happen before.

Sorry for the delay in dealing with this. I've extended the amount of time allowed for search queries to complete. This is something of a band-aid for the time being, but should do for a bit.
