Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Mother of Divine Grace recommends Concepts and Challenges in Science for 5th and older.

Anyone used it? Do you like it?

We used it in 5th (haven't gotten to the next grade level at which it is recommended). We used the OOP version, and it was great. The chemistry section got a bit too abstract towards the end for our student; but, he really enjoyed the book and the experiments we did.

Hi Sarah
This is an interesting question. When I first saw this book mentioned for fifth grade MODG I thought we wouldn't use it. (Too much of a text book) However, since this child of mine needed to review capitalization, I thought we would use it just to practice capitalizing the first letter of a sentence and because I like to use the teacher planner (weekly list) of the MODG school.

Wouldn't you know it, my child loved it. In fact, she would tell us at the dinner table the science she learned from this book. (She did it all on her own.) Now we are looking forward to using the second book in this series in seventh grade.

Okay, I'm ordering it. I think it will be a good supplement to real books.

Thanks ladies.
