Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know I haven't been posting much lately, but I could really use your prayers. My dh is away and I'm getting the flu. Dh's 3 week assignment is stretching out to be more like 4 weeks and I've been told that this flu is really going to do me in. I know we'll be OK, but I really could use a milder version of this flu. (and if I can't cook for my dc and the only left overs in the fridge have meat, is that Ok to eat on Friday - given the situation?)

I think children under a certain age are exempt from fasting on Friday, aren't they? In any case, I'm sure our Lord would want them to eat and not suffer if you are too sick to cook. Praying for a quick recovery for you.

Yes Lorri, your children can eat meat tomorrow. If Bishops give a dispensation (sure I bothched the spelling) on St. Patrick's day, I think your children can have one when you are sick. If you or they are really bothered by eating meat tomorrow, pick a day when you are better and don't eat meat. Isn't the age you have to fast and abstain 14? (But don't tell my kids)

Praying you feel better. I wish I lived closer.

Praying, Lorri. It's never fun to get sick but to get sick when dh is gone is 10x worse.
