Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are almost ready for a new chapter book, Charlotte's Web was a hit and we're almost done with Mr. Popper's Penguins. Wild Animals will be our topic for the next few weeks, does anyone have an easy chapter book suggestion to go along with it?

Thanks!

We love My Side of the Mountain...not quite as easy as the books you mentioned...and The Trumpet of the Swan is great, too. (E. B. White wrote it, as well as Charlotte's Web.)

The Thornton Burgess books are great!

The Burgess Bird Book for Children
The Burgess Animal Book for Children
The Burgess Seashore Book for Children
Old Mother West Wind
Any of these would be great!

Sterling North's Rascal or The Wolfling are good also.

Faley Mowat's Owl's in the Family or The Dog Who Wouldn't Be are cute too.

Hope those help.

Rabbit Hill by Robert Lawson is another good one.
