Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Michelle posted one for this year and i have used it for our first communion notebook. i'm working on a liturgical year notebook for next year and am wondering if there is a wheel i could use for 2007? i know posters are available, but i'd like to make my own calendar and use this as a template.

Mary,

I use a free software program to create it. I was just thinking yesterday that I need to get the new one made. I'll try to do it in the next few days. Or you can download the program and do it yourself. Here's the link:

God Bless!

Michele,

Did you catch the Vatican news item that in 2008 the dates of the feasts of Annunciation and St. Joseph are being moved...and this time St. Joseph's WILL be before the actual dates, not later? March 15, day before Palm Sunday will be the Solemnity of St. Joseph, and March 31, the Monday after Divine Mercy Sunday will be the Solemnity of the Annunciation.

I didn't see it but someone sent it to me. Do be sure and alert me whenever you see such things.

Thanks!
Michele

This is very interesting. I was intrigued by how early Easter will be that year. Only 3 times in my life has Easter fallen before my birthday and then only by one day. This will be 5 days before. The 2008 Lent and Easter Season will seem really weird being almost a week earlier than even the "early" dates people are have experienced. This is the earliest date for Easter in almost 100 years - last time it was on the 23rd was in 1913. Hasn't been on it's earliest possible date (March 22) since 1818!

My birthday is ALWAYS in Lent, but I do believe this is the first time it's fallen in Holy Week. My birthday will be Palm Sunday. I think I'll move the celebration to the 15th!

Does anyone know of another source for the liturgical wheel that you color yourself? Our Father's House used to carry it. Or maybe a link to instructions for making your own? I've visited the other liturgical calendar thread -- and the poster from LTP looks beautiful, but still wondering if there are make-your-own directions somewhere?

I am very sorry to report that the next time Easter will fall on March 22 will be 2285. I don't think any of us will be around to celebrate that . Here is a site that I was using to find info about Easter dates - it covers the last 130 years and goes approx. another 120 years. There are lots of sites that if given a year will calculate Easter date for you. The listing is nicer because you can see at a glance instead of plugging in dates ad infinitum. This particualr page with the date calculator has a pocket liturgical disk (2000 to 2099 years) that you can download and print. (It looks fuzzy on the screen but prints clear).

Here's a blank one: http://www.family-centered.com/litcal.gif

I'm still working on the one with dates but the numbers aren't coming out right for some reason - I think it's a software problem.

I checked with OFH and they aren't planning on making anymore calendars.

God Bless!
