Well, the phone and computer weren't working properly (though thankfully the AC was ) so we read books all afternoon. Lots of Jan Brett.
Oh, and my 6-month re-check (mammogram) was normal!

My 15 year old son picked up my three month old baby and said "I just love this little baby so much!!!" What a great moment!

This is last week:
The orthopedist said Paul could have a waterproof cast.
And the other good thing? He only broke his arm, not his neck!! Deo gratias!!!!

I bought shoes! I've been searching for shoes for weeks now for my twin brothers' college graduation in a couple of weeks. I found a pair in 5 minutes and my children were so well behaved (they had not been those other times). This is not so warm and fuzzy as the others, but it felt so good.
Then dh called when I got home. The kids had a blast talking to him including the baby. It was nice.

I got to hear our new baby's heartbeat for the first time (where's the emoticon for happy tears?!)
AND...
on my way home, I paused the car to turn off the main road and noticed a beautiful butterfly on some echinacea right in the middle of the median, not minding any of the traffic...

I just read through this thread. These posts are just wonderful!! It is so important to find joy in each day.
My mom surprised us with a visit today. She brought with her a veggie tray, fruits and treats which took care of lunch for us. While the children munched away, she helped me fold a mountain of laundry. Then she brought our older two boys to the library, while the younger three stayed with me and painted with watercolors at the table. When my mom left, she took my paperback swaps to mail and ran an errand for me. Nana is so good to us!
Blessings!

We spent 3 hours in a meeting at church. Our Family Faith Formation classes are going to be outstanding. I can't wait to teach this year! The Holy Spirit is really helping our program.
Bigger news...they are starting our perpetual adoration chapel construction this summer!!!
God is so good!!!!

Oh my goodness, Mary Ellen--what wonderful news! You've certainly done a beautiful job of carrying them this far. What nice, healthy sizes for twins. It's time to take a load off !

I woke up to the wonderful sound this morning of my 4.5 dd "reading" "Sheep in a Jeep" to her little brother.
I love it when I overhear those kinds of moments!

Molly,
Aren't babies great for teens?
Yesterday: 4 teeth cleanings, paid by insurance. 3 sets of x-rays, paid by insurance. 0 cavities....priceless (not to mention free!)

This thread is fun!
Took everyone shopping at Costco today. They were perfect! The older children helped, the little ones sat nicely in the cart and smiled. No one banged into anything. Everyone was polite.
i'm easily impressed.

Oh, this is a fun thread! Like a gratitude journal for us all. Today my little guy signed and said "Ah uhh oo, Mama" (I love you, Mama) and then said (and gave me a) "Big huuuuhg!"

What a great topic!
We just got back from a few days at the lake....I'm so glad we had time as a family. Daddy helped the little ones get more comfortable with swimming...what fun to watch!
A friend knew I was having a hard time with something and left a message on my answering machine while I was gone letting me know she was praying for me. What a sweet coming home surprise!

This is a great thread--just what I needed to lift my spirits!
Our oldest dd is going to Totus Tuus next week at our parish church. Totus Tuus is a Catholic version of vacation bible school--the kids go to Mass, Adoration, and Confession. This is the first year Mary Beth can go and she'll be gone from 9am to 3pm every day next week, which is the longest she's ever been gone from her sisters.
She's been really excited about going to Totus Tuus, but when I told her what the hours were, she started crying and said, "But I'll miss my sisters! And I won't be able to do my chores!"

Oh, I have another one to share!
Last week, I took the kids to go out to eat at a fancy restaurant with my dad and his wife. There was an older gentleman sitting the table next to us, and as he left, he stopped at our table and said, "These are the most well-behaved children I've ever seen! It's a credit to their parents and grandparents." I wanted to cry, I was so touched! I said, "You just made my day, thank you!"
I think I'll write that one down and look at it on those "not-so-good" days...
Dawn

Well, Friday we were trying to help our dd look up her college bill and make sure her scholarships were credited to it - so she could pay. We were totally floored - they had credited her with another scholarship that we didn't even know about that really, really reduced the cost. Thankful for such unexpected surprises.
I had to laugh and cry with all the above posts. The hearing heartbeats, seeing sonograms, older sweet comments about younger siblings - and the comment about missing sisters and not being able to do her chores - now that is priceless!
