Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I will admit I didn't read any farther than this but just had to comment! Finally, after reading the above statement many times on this board, and after 15 years of homeschooling, I have embraced this. It took a scare. I thought I had cancer and had an immediate hysterectomy. During the time before the surgery I thought, what would happen if I died, or even was sick for long periods of time? This place would fall apart. So, with the help of my husband we came up with a plan. I no longer do dishes, make breakfast, or make lunch. I only do a small amount of laundry and I rarely have to sweep a floor. Even my 8yo does these things. He makes an awesome omelet, but I wouldn't have known this if I continued making all the meals every day. We're still working on it. they are pretty good about helping with laundry but I need to be on their case about vacuuming. BUT! I have more energy to be on their case because I'm not worn out from doing it all myself. I wish I would have started this years ago because the oldest kids are the most difficult about making the transition.
I haven't read this entire thread so if I'm speaking to the choir, I apologize. I just wanted to share what a difference this has made around here!
