Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The boys are studying Russia right now in their social studies course. I am looking for some picture books that depict Russia, it's culture or it's people, from any time period. Catholic content would be a bonus. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

Philipok is a lovely book. My girls loved it when they were younger.

Apologies. I linked to a German version, but it is also in English.

I don't have a specific edition in mind, but you could look at "Peter and the Wolf" or "The Nutcracker".   There are also loads of Russian legends and fairy tales. For the older crowd you could watch "Fiddler on the Roof".

Just going to add that there won't be much if any Catholic content when studying Russia. Russia, as far as religion, is predominantly Russian Orthodox - so has a strong Christian history and there are elements of the Orthodox faith in so many of the books. The Catholics will mostly be in Eastern Rite Catholic (not Roman). So the couple of books mentioned in that other thread -
The Miracle of St. Nicholas and The Wonderful Life of Russia's Saint Sergius of Radonezh - are examples of what you might find. Patricia Polacco's books have been mentioned and she has elements in them of the Orthodox faith - icons pictured in background and such. Quite lovely.

How a Shirt Grew in the Field (Marguerite Rudolph) - depicts life in the Ukrainian countryside circa early 1900s

Really sweet story, reminiscent of Elsa Beskow's Pelle's New Suit and Tomie dePaola's Charlie Needs a Cloak where raw materials are turned into clothing - in this case flax - to linen - to shirt. Love the illustrations which show the Ukrainian countryside.
