Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone seen The Castle Series by Jessica Day George?

We recently discovered them on cd at the library, and they are so much fun! I am not a Harry Potter fan (the later books are too dark and creepy for me), but this series just hits the spot for me as far as a good castle/magic/entertaining series.

Castle Glower is the main setting, and when the castle gets bored, it likes to add things (rooms, stables, towers) or move things around. Usually this happens on Tuesdays...

If you listen on cd, the narrator is excellent. There are three books in the series so far; the author has quite and imagination!

ETA: Read the author's biography on Amazon. It's a hoot- at least she is honest! I am sure many of us can relate to the need to have a purse big enough to carry a book in.

I remember the days of evaluating purses based on book carrying capacity!

I dislike carrying around a great big purse but also dislike not having a book to read with me making the challange of finding a purse *just* big enough that much more interesting.

Ebooks have made me much happier -instead of needing a purse big enough to fit a book into, I have my hip pouch for when I'm out without the children (just big enough for a smartphone plus essentials).

I downloaded the book from the library and let my 9 year old read it. She said it was "Okay, but not as good as Stuart Little."
