Update:
Thank you for your prayers for my dad! He survived surgery and no life or death decisions had to be made because of brain damage - thank you, Jesus!
The surgery went long into the evening and the updates were spotty, but as of this morning he was talking and mostly moving. I believe there is still some swelling in the brain. Many tests are scheduled for today.
The family drama part of this all got a little crazy yesterday. I was thinking that I don't pray near enough for my dad which is my plan going forward and I am grateful that God gave me/us the time to do so. Somehow I will let him know how many people prayed for him yesterday. :)
Original Post:
We learned yesterday that my dad has a brain tumor and will have brain surgery to remove it on Tuesday around 1:00 p.m. There are risks to the surgery and he has a legal will set up in ways not in harmony with our Catholic faith. Without going into detail, he is also in a living situation not in harmony with our faith. We have been mostly estranged from him for a number of years because of this.
My dad is young-ish, having just turned 68 this month (he was 19 when my brother and I were born), but has undergone both open heart and hip surgery this past year. He is a retired firefighter and has always been young-spirited to us. That is how I like to think of my dad. :)
Prayers would be for his soul and that he have a conversion of some kind and seek confession before the surgery just in case it is his time.

PRAYING!!!!!
My Mom died just a year ago (May 15th) and was away from the Church. My kids and I prayed like crazy to get her back in the church.
She had a very amazing conversion back to the Church two days before she died! Praying for the same miracle for you and your Father.

Praying for his heart's conversion. Nothing like being thrown off your horse to look at priorities. My cousin's baby has a brain tumor and this motivated her to get the baby baptized, so I will pray for the same graces for your father.

Dear Erica,
A year ago I posted prayers for my dad who was diagnosed with a brain tumor too. I will certainly pray for your dad and all the intentions.
My dad (who is much older) did not have any treatment (surgery not an option) but the Cyber Knife which helped. With the grace of God he is still hanging in there with no loss of faculties.
Pray the Anima Christi for you dad.
