Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

... yeah. Who wouldn't want one for a FHC gift?

Yesterday ds announces that he wants to buy his cousin a FHC gift (very nice of him) and would I take him "somewhere".

His self -set budget was $10, so we wandered around the Catholic bookstore for *an hour* (and the store is not that big), with everything being "no good" or "too expensive". Argh. All the employees got to know us on a first name basis.

He spotted the giant glow in the dark rosary right away (must have been five feet around with beads big enough to club someone) but alas... just as I was seriously having to talk him out of it, he checked the price and it was over his budget.. whew!!

But then he spotted the black rubber, stretchy rosary for $2. Seriously, a totally made for boys rosary. I have never seen one like it before- stretch it anyway and it would bounce back into shape and would not tear. Great for boys. For a 9 yo girl... not so much....

As we were leaving the store (after settling on a very pretty clay bead rosary (will try to post a pic later... so cheerful, all different colored flowers), ds comments on how gift shopping really takes it out of a boy....
umm... yeah.
