Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My son is 8 and has started asked about where babies come from. Does anyone have a good book that they can suggest?

I am rather.... stumped.
Thank you.

The Joyful Mysteries of Life is a gentle introduction to that material, if you want him to know all of it now. Or you could just answer him a little bit at a time, and see what he asks next. Sometimes they are not asking for as much as we may think.

Looking into it now.

The Wonderful Way Babies Are Made
is really nice. It has two different levels within the same book.

I read somewhere, long ago, that younger children are just looking for the answer to their specific question, not for all of the details behind that answer. A brief sentence or two might be enough at this stage.

It's always good to have resources on hand, though, for later on!

That's the book I used. It's a little "romantic" for a boy, so I had to gloss over some of the text, but it introduces the topic respectfully.
