Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone suggest some good videos on the medieval times? This would be for kids below 13.
Thanks!

I would preview, but a few that come to mind:

El Cid with Charlton Heston (It's been too long, so I can't remember what's in here.)

Henry V: Definitely violent, but stirring and awesome.

Ivanhoe with Elizabeth Taylor as a young girl. (It's been a while since I've seen, also, so preview.)

The Black Arrow (down by Disney)

Robin Hood and Sword in the Stone animated Disney might be fun to watch.

Robin Hood the movie with Errol Flynn is another.

Many of the "great" movies have inappropriate material for children or you will definitely need to preview. The main problem is there is the prevalent view of the "Dark Ages".

To provide some perspective of the "positive" viewpoint of the Middle Ages, I recently quoted from Christopher Dawson in my Catholic Culture article. He wrote extensively on this, and it helps to just realize there is much prejudice and misinformation, lots of "dark" and violence portrayed in these movies. There is also a lot of anti-Catholic sentiment. There was personal corruption, but the Church itself was not corrupt.

We like the series of Robin Hood with Richard Greene, they teach a lot of good morals and we are surprised at the respect for Catholic Faith included and how they portray Friar Tuck most of the time. A family favorite here.
