IS there such a thing

?

Last year we loved our dry erase boards but went through markers like water, so I finally shelved them. But we missed them, so this year I am trying to find a brand of marker that will last more than a few weeks. Is there such a thing?

I admit I do not use a dry erase board regularly, but I have this ONE marker that I didn't even buy that is always really "wet" when I need it. It is awesome. It is a "Board Dudes Medium Dry Erase Marker."

I also have a lone Crayola that is several years old and still manages to write pretty well in spite of being confiscated from several toddlers who used it to write on paper. I think I bought it from Dick Blick. But I think I like the Board Dudes one better.

Okay, I just looked at some Amazon reviews, and apparently, it is only the black markers (what I have) that are great from Board Dudes. One reviewer even said she got this awesome one that came with her board so she ordered the set and was very disappointed with the colored ones.

Thanks, Lindsay. At least that is one brand I can know to look for.

I wish the markers could be refilled somehow...like printers.

The starter kit is not cheap, but I think it will last us a really long time, plus the reviews are very good. I love the idea that it is all recyclable... nothing goes to the landfill!

I use wet erase markers on my white boards. They last longer and don't smell as strong.

They are like markers you use for overhead projectors, right? I always liked the vis a vis brand.

We use Quartet Enduraglide Fine Point Markers and I LOVE THEM! We usually buy the PACKS in standard colors, but Staples has them sold individually in other pretty colors.

They last much longer than the EXPO markers, and the tops don't get smashed as easily as other ones.

They definitely last more than a few weeks.

I had to have "White Board Writing 101" at our house...teaching the kids AND DADDY how to write with a dry erase marker....you keep your hand in the air and push ONLY LIGHTLY. Otherwise they smash that poor 'ol dry erase marker right into the white-board and use too much ink and smash the tip. So, I double check their writing technique occasionally.....

And, NEW MARKERS have a holder WAY up higher than used ones....those are for me only. Nothin' better than a brand new dry-erase-marker to make a million lists on a white-board!

I use magic erase sponges. (Are they sponges? Foam thingies?)

They erase better and if you get the knock off brands, are fairly cheap. A $1 a box and the dollar store. I get them wet, wring them out well, then they are good for quite some time.

Thanks for all this helpful info... I feel better already about our prospects for using our dry erase board this year.
