Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Looking at the upcoming canonizations John Paul II and John XXIII, thought it would be good to compile some resources. Anyone have any special plans for this week to share? Any resources?

Canonization of Two Popes Faith Folder Lapbook

We have lots of past discussion of studies for JPII in these threads:
Easter, Divine Mercy, & John Paul II
Pope John Paul II Memorial Notebooks
Craft ideas Pope John Paul II
Pope John Paul II

Not finding much mention in past threads of John XXIII studies or resources. Here are a couple links I found to some resources.
John XXIII movie available from Ignatius Press
Pope John XXIII Explained poster

Prospect Hill Company has two sided book mark (JPII & John XXIII) also inexpensive medals of both.

Please help brainstorm this thread with ideas.

So glad you asked and thanks for the links!

I was thinking about asking what folks' plans were too!

So far I've only got some Polish dinner ideas...the usual fare of kielbasa and pierogies. Dh is full Polish so I'm going to ask for some other ideas too.

Fr. Barron will be doing an email series from Rome during the Canonization's. His Lent series was awesome! So, I expect for of the same for this. You can sign up here at Word From Rome to be sent to your email when he posts.

Just saw this new JPII book today. I didn't have the opportunity to read it through - but what I did was excellent. It is a comic book format.
John Paul II: The Journey of a Saint

And we bought the new Jason Evert book. My daughter is reading it and says it is excellent so far.
Saint John Paul the Great: His Five Loves

A Catholic homeschooling mom is sharing their family's pilgrimage to Rome for Easter, Mercy Sunday and the canonizations via her blog Better Than Eden. Definitely worth visiting! She shares incredible pictures and talks about their experiences, including one of their sons receiving his First Holy Communion there! Amazing! A blessed and grace-filled Mercy Sunday to all!

So how was everyone's canonization weekend? We went to a program here done by the Augustine Institute focusing on St. JPII's contributions to arts. Have Polish dinner - grilled kielbasa and pierogi for dinner.
