DS18 is having some health issues happening. His face is swollen again. In April it had swollen 4 days after taking a rugby ball in the face, seemed odd to me. Dentist said it was the teeth, when his lip swelled. By the next morning it was swollen to his eye, looked like a Who from dr. seuss. We went to the ER, and they thought it was irritation to the optical nerve that caused the swelling. He was on T3's, anti inflammatory and an antibiotic. It seemed to have resolved.
2 nights ago, I noticed his lip was slightly swollen, but I wasn't positive. Yesterday, it was quite noticeable, but he already had appt with dentist for this morning. He went to dentist and the dentist isn't sure what is going on, it doesn't look like an infected tooth in the x-ray, but possibly a cyst or other growth. We have an appt first thing in the morning tomorrow with a specialist. I'm praying it's the infected tooth, as a root canal is much easier to handle that a cyst removal, which is far more involved, and quite invasive with a longer recovery. Plus it's his grad tomorrow. And he's starting work full-time in another week.
Please pray for him, that it is something simple that will resolve with an anti-biotic and not surgery.

Good news, well I guess it's relative. One tooth died, so we need a root canal done, but only 1. The specialist x-ray was much clearer and you can see what is going on.
So much better than oral surgery for removal of a cyst.

Update, root canal is complete as of this Thursday, they let it be temp for a few weeks to be sure the infection cleared - no re-occurrence of swelling.
