Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just read this article. As I was reading, I kept thinking, "If families don't want their kids to take this course, then they can homeschool."      As I read further, the new law in Quebec actually forces homeschoolers to also take this course. Unbelievable!

I have amazingly been out of the loop on this. I am very glad we are in Ontario, not Quebec, but I am afraid it's only a matter of time before we see similar issues here. The Ontario government is already imposing regulations on the Catholic school board- a big part of the problem there, though, is that the Catholic school board is a public, government funded school board. That's what happens when you let the government pay for it.

If you live in Alberta, Canada, you will want to read this article. In fact, I think all Canadian homeschoolers should be aware that Alta. is trying to tell homeschooling parents what they can teach their children. It's scary.
