Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I thought I posted about this book a couple years ago, but I didn't find anything in the archives.

Hurry, Hurry, Mary Dear

This book always gets many laughs and I love it for it's funny words and rhyming and great illustrations!

Quote:
In one of the poet's best-known nonsensical rhymes, indefatigable Mary, a slight but steady old woman, rushes about preparing the household for winter, inside and out, while her idle husband sits by and fusses about the changing season. As she toils, her wispy white hair escapes from its bun and her ire rises until she reaches the end of her rope and retaliates.

ENJOY!

Oh, I thought you were calling me...

It does look like a very enjoyable book - requesting it now! Thanks for sharing it. Isn't if funny you thought you had to have posted it before. I know I do that all the time then discover "No" I must have just thought about it.

Boo! I love and hate limiting the Top Ten lists on my blog. I love this book too but it didn't make the team for my Top Ten Autumn booklist.

It is a fun read though!

Just checked it out and we really enjoyed it! Thanks!

I have to admit that I felt a little guilty that I wasn't doing most of those things to get ready for winter. Talk about a disconnect of what life should be and my paltry reality.
