Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm trying to compile a booklist suitable for a 6 month old+. My sister is reading chapter books to her baby because she doesn't know where to start. You'd think I'd know but my baby listens to picture books aimed at his siblings. My first child was so long ago I can't remember and besides the picture book industry has exploded since then. Christmas titles would be great too.

Can ideas please?

I like the "classic" books in board-book format that young--Eric Carle, Margaret Wise Brown, Sandra Boynton. I am personally not much of a fan of books aimed specifically to children that young because they're usually rather gimmicky. I'd rather offer something of quality if I'm going to take the time to read to an infant, you know? The ones I mentioned above can be started with very young children and last through early toddlerhood (and even my 3yos still love them!). I also do poems for very young ones--short and sweet.
