Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone recommend books dealing with cooperation, participation and/or flexibility. (While I am not sure these are actually considered virtues, they are qualities that are desirable in my strong-willed 3year old dd)

My personal favorite book with my little ones is Gelett Burgess' Goops.

I mention some other lovely books with stories on the virtues at the end of this thread discussing habit formation. Here are the books specifically so you can search and link with ease from here:

Books
A Child's Garden of Virtues: Stories about Virtues

A Child's First Steps to Virtues

Garden of Virtues: A Bouquet of Stories about Timeless Virtues

Garden of Virtues: Planting Seeds of Goodness - I have had this lovely gem for several years now and we love it! (NOTE: this book is really written more for an adult or an older child, it is extremely helpful and easy to read as background info though.) Under each virtue it lists:
*seeds to plant
*weeds to pull
*family rule

HTH, Sunny!

EDITED TO ADD: See page 1 of this thread for reviews of the above books. I do not recommend all of the books after closer reading.

Cay's book, Picture Perfect Childhood has a section "Teaching Virtues through Books." A friend has my copy so I can't tell you which specifc "virtues" or good habits that it covers or which books, but it would have some suggestions.

Jennifer, not only do these look amazing, they are available used very affordably! You just jump started my own ideas for a study on virtues. Thanks for the links!
