Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yankee Doodle America

Put this one on your list for the fall if you are planning to learn about the Revolutionary War (and even if you aren't). My kids sat through the whole A to Z alphabet with Revolutionary War facts. This book will appeal to many ages. The pictures are very nice, and each letter has just enough info to be interesting but not overwhelming. My dd was so excited when we got to the Liberty Bell. All the major players and events of the war are in there, plus some of the women who played important roles, like Elizabeth Zane. How had I never heard of her before?

Revolutionary War, American history

Perfect! I can't wait to see this because my children can't get enough of the Revolutionary War era.

Love,

This is a lovely book - I really like how the alphabet is incorporated into the colonial signs. Definitely a must for any colonial/revolutionary era study.
