Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I would LOVE to have some from my breadmaker already done in the freezer. How do I do it? It sticks to the bag. Oil the bag? Flour? When should I take it out for defrost to use for dinner? In the am? day before? It would be so helpful if someone could clue me in to the secrets of homemade pizza dough from the freezer (or fridge?) that was prepared a few days beforehand....
Thanks, Anne

At the end of my pregnancy, my dh stocked the freezer with homemade pizza crusts. He made the dough in the breadmaker then baked the crusts. He stored them in freezer bags. It was great because the kids could just grab a couple of crusts and throw sauce and cheese on for a quick meal.

Yes, definitely pre-bake the crusts! If you make larger ones (pizza pan size) they will fit in a turkey roasting bag.

Can someone share their pizza dough recipe? My youngest can inhale a medium pizza in one sitting.

I'd love to freeze a bunch to keep on hand.

Do you prebake as long as you would for a pizza with sauce and cheese--or a little less? I am going to try this method. Sounds great, less mess in the kitchen on a busy day.
Our favorite pizza dough recipe is:
for 1 1/2 lb
1 cup, plus a little of water
2 tbsp's olive or vegie oil
3/4 tsp salt
3 cups flour(we use combo's of white, whole wheat and soy)Our favorite is just white and soy.
2 tsp yeast
I sprinkle in some ground flax and honey(about 1-2 tbsp each)
Hope to try this next week. Thanks ladies..
Anne

And there is this thread from earlier in the week that has several whole wheat crust recipes. Not sure if you wanted white though.

Thanks, Mary. I just left a question over there.

We make a batch of pizza dough (not in a machine... we use a Jamie Oliver recipe, although half white, half wholemeal flour). We divide it into four, use one, and wrap each of the others in Gladwrap (clingfilm?) I just get out a ball in the morning when we're having pizza, and it's sufficiently thawed by dinner time to roll out.

(Edited to add a link to how we do pizza...)

Hope this helps!
