Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm glad you posted this question Jennifer, because I was going to do the same. My dd has lots of things like rosaries, scapulars, books about saints, religious art in her room etc. so it's hard to think of something. Two things I have told grandparents and god parents are a Bible (a real one, not just stories) or a nice miraculous medal or crucifix to wear. But that's all I could think of and now dh and I don't know what to get her!

My ds has been wanting a real Bible for years and he is getting one for his FHC. Most of the ones I found online that could be personalized were just blah looking. I finally found a very nice one that could be personalized with his name and the date. I think he's going to love it.

Here's the link:

I second the rosary idea. Even if your daughter has many already and she is bound to recieve many more in her lifetime, that one she received on her First Holy Communion Day will always be special. My husband still has his!.....and it is a glow-in-the-dark plastic cheapie! Ha!

Thank you Maria and Cheryl! I looked at Beads of Mercy and decided to get a Chaplet, Blessed Sacrament Beads. I thought it would be a nice idea for when there are times they can't recive Communion.
