Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I could not resist buying this set of Plague Masks for my CCD class. It turns out that they learn much better when they are active.    We did a play about the ten plagues, and called the kids away in order, leaving only the firstborn to explain Passover. It was such a good lesson (finally!).

Pretty cool! Too bad I am not making any more impulse buys! But that's another thread.

Waahooo! They look really, really great! A fabulous way to have the children enjoy the story and remember it!

MacBeth -- Thanks a lot!! I have a bunch of hands-on stuff for Moses, but nothing hands-on for the plagues -- this is fantastic!! I can't wait to add to the collection. The plagues are so hard to remember- this will make it so much fun!

Some of the other stuff they have at this site is neat too!

I'll bet one could make those masks pretty easily from construction paper as well. The picture shows all of them, which is pretty neat (I like something to guide me). Thanks for the link!!!

On another note, perused that website a bit where those masks are on... and I loved the little wooden sets they had there for their Shabbat---candesticks and bread to slice, etc...

Now would you fine ladies know if there's a comparable place to purchase Catholic items like that? I know you can get brass miniature items for chalice/ciborium/etc... But I was thinking how neat it would to be able to find a wooden set of the same thing...

I think you could...I just don't have the time with these kids. I would definitely make them myself for my own kids.
